Blessing bidding time for foreign move

Ghana Premier League top scorer Latif Blessing says he is in no rush to seek a career abroad following his exploits in the topflight.

Although his Liberty Professionals side finished the season on a disappointing 13th position, the youngster impressively netted 17 times in 24 matches, including a hat-trick on matchday 30.

Expectedly, his exploits have caught the eye of a host of foreign clubs, but the 19-year-old says staying in Ghana for another season is still an option.

“It’s the dream of every player to play abroad,” Blessing told Goal.

“After the 2014-15 season, I had offers, but I thought it was too early for me to leave, and decided to gain more experience here.

“People questioned my decision to stay, but I knew the time wasn’t right. I waited, and you can now see what God has done for me.

“This time around, I am still not in a rush to leave Ghana. My main priority is to be called into the national team.

“However, if an offer comes and my management and Liberty professionals say it’s best I move in order to develop my career, I will.

“But I will not force a move from the club. If they think I should stay, I will.”

Local giants Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko have both expressed interest in the playmaker.

Blessing netted 14 of 17 goals at Liberty’s Dansoman Carl Reindorf home park.
